I was born and raised in Miami; so I speak enough Spanish to order a cafecito, or ask someone to smile for a picture. You know, the important stuff! I actually didn’t study photography in college, instead I majored in advertising. Which worked out, because it helps me understand what clients are looking to achieve in a campaign. I began my career as a photojournalist for a small town newspaper in Massachusetts, riding around on a moped, much to the amusement of the locals. Then I moved to NYC, started assisting and working as a fine-art photographer. I was incredibly fortunate, and had some very successful exhibitions; with my pictures landing in the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum, SF Moma, the Library of Congress and several other notable institutions. For quite some time, I resisted shooting commercially because I considered myself an “Artist” with a capital A. And because I was an idiot. Because once I started, I loved it! I have been able to travel the world and meet fascinating people in every location imaginable. I honestly believe I have the best job in the world. And I still love taking pictures. Whether it’s for a magazine cover, shooting in a hospital, or my dumb dog on the beach, it all puts a smile on my face. Over the years, I met a girl in a bar, married her, and had a couple of kids. Now we live in small town on the coast near Boston. If you see me walking around, I will be the guy with the camera.
